YMA Painterly Shaders

During a 400+ hour full-time internship at Pixels + Colour LLC, the studio behind You and Me Academy (YMA), I worked on stylized shaders, materials, textures and UI elements for YMA Painterly Shaders. The goal was to build stylized Redshift looks using brush normals and painterly texture logic, then adapt them for Arnold in Maya through a long Cross-DCC research process with Theodore Daley.

400+ hour full-time internship at Pixels + Colour LLC, the studio behind You and Me Academy (YMA), covering stylized shaders, materials, textures and UI work.

02 / Painterly shaders

Material and texture studies for stylized Redshift looks using brush normals and painterly texture logic, later adapted for Arnold in Maya.

03 / Pipeline

Prepared for documenting shader families, presets and the adaptation work needed to keep painterly looks consistent between Cinema 4D and Maya.

04 / Personal Cross-DCC bridge

I also started a personal Cross-DCC shader bridge to facilitate my own conversion and adaptation work for YMA painterly shader logic between Cinema 4D and Maya.
